A new Post Doctoral researcher has joined the GCRO team in 2023

The start of the 2023/24 financial year saw the introduction of two new staff members at the GCRO – Ms Phemelo Mahamuza, the new GIS Intern, and Wendy a Post-doc researcher.

Wendy joined GCRO as a postdoc for the period January 2023 to December 2024. She came to GCRO in April 2023. Her research interests are in understanding the gendered dimension of the Water, Energy and Food Nexus in the Gauteng Region. Wendy seeks to utilise the GCRO's quality of life in understanding the gendered perspectives of service delivery and participatory planning. Her background is in Urban and Regional Planning. She attained her PhD at the University of Venda in South Africa in 2021. Her research topic Spatial (in)justice on street spaces of small rural towns of Vembe District, South Africa.
