GCRO Bids Farewell to Dr Wendy Tsoriyo
As we bid farewell to Dr. Wendy Tsoriyo, we also celebrate her remarkable contributions and achievements during her time as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the GCRO (January 2023 – March 2026). Wendy joined the GCRO following the completion of her PhD in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Venda, bringing with her a strong commitment to spatial justice and inclusive planning.
At the GCRO, Wendy’s work focused on a number of themes, including mining and contamination in the Witwatersrand, the gendered dimensions of spatial planning and justice, and the Quality of Life Survey to advance understanding of service delivery and participatory planning from that perspective. Her work and impact were recently recognised through a nomination at the Built Environment Awards, a fitting acknowledgement of her growing influence in the sector.
The GCRO thanks Wendy for her passion, insight, and dedication, and wishes her continued success as she takes the next steps in her academic and professional journey.
