Academic contributions projects
Current Projects
GCRO will partner with other academic departments and centres to run academic dialogues of various kinds.
Selected conferences, seminars and symposia:
GCRO staff present to academic and other audiences on a regular basis, as part of academic citizenship and scholarship.
Selected presentations:
Academic and other publications are critical for an academic institution, particularly those appearing in peer reviewed journals, which are key in maintaining standards and pushing researchers to reach (and exceed) international standards.
Selected published works:
A Resource Centre, holding hard-copy and electronic resources, is being developed to record all materials (both hard and soft copies) determined to be relevant and important to understanding the evolution of the Gauteng City-Region. The holdings will be captured on an MS Access database.
Where appropriate GCRO staff will contribute to the teaching and learning work of various universities through lecturing and supervision.
GCRO intends to initiate a ‘visitors series’ in 2010. This will aim to secure visiting researchers, or practitioners aiming to reflect on and write up their work experiences, to work within the GCRO offices for a defined period.
