Purpose
In this, the third RAC meeting, we are looking for more interaction, and for guidance from you. In the first meeting, you were given an overview of the GCR via our survey data, and an overview of the provincial government's 2055 planning project. Last meeting, we were given a global context and some specifics on the challenges of urbanisation in India. At the end, you also saw how GCRO was planning projects for the current financial year (which for us runs April to March).
Now, we think it is time to get into some detailed discussion, around the key issue: is GCRO doing what it should be doing? We will start the day with two brief inputs: a senior provincial government representative will summarise the key strategies and programmes of provincial government, so we're all up to speed on what they're doing. Then Chris Wray of GCRO will equally (or even more) briefly summarise the data that GCRO has now put in place - some quite remarkable datasets.
Then, it will be over to the RAC to look back at the projects we are doing, the data we have, the needs of government - short- and long-term - and start sketching what you think we ought to be doing. This would hopefully also include projects where RAC members could participate.
